CTR on Amazon (click-through rate)

Clicks divided by impressions on the search page — the metric your main image, title, price, and review stars fight over, and one of the strongest behavioral inputs to rank.

On Amazon, CTR is decided in a tile: main image, title's first words, price, star rating, review count, badges, and shipping promise. Search CTR feeds ranking directly — a listing that gets chosen from the shelf earns more shelf.

Move it with the elements shoppers actually see at thumbnail size: a main image that reads at 200 pixels, the differentiator inside the title's first 60 characters, and a price that does not require justification the tile cannot deliver. A/B test main images through Manage Your Experiments rather than opinions.

The numbers

  • Typical Amazon search CTRs run low single digits; position and category swamp averages — trend your own, not benchmarks.
  • Main-image tests through Manage Your Experiments (free, Brand Registry) are the highest-leverage CTR tool.
