A10 (Amazon search algorithm)
The working name for Amazon's product-search ranking system, which weighs conversion behavior, sales velocity, and relevance signals — and increasingly feeds semantic models like COSMO rather than raw keyword matching.
A10 is the community's name for the ranking layer that decides which products appear for a search. It rewards what Amazon can measure: click-through from the search page, conversion rate on the listing, sales velocity, in-stock consistency, and relevance signals from the listing's text and traffic. It is not a static formula — it is a system that keeps re-estimating what shoppers actually buy after each query.
The practical shift in 2026 is that listing text is no longer read as a keyword bag. Semantic layers (COSMO) and the Rufus assistant interpret intent, so a title written for a human buyer that states use-case and audience now outranks a comma-stuffed one. Optimize the measurable behaviors first: a 1% conversion gain does more for rank than any backend keyword shuffle.
