Listing suppression (search-suppressed)
Listings hidden from search for content or policy defects — still technically live, earning nothing, and silently draining rank while your ads and inventory sit idle.
A suppressed listing stops appearing in search and browse — missing main image, title-policy violations, missing category attributes, restricted-keyword flags, or pricing errors are the usual causes. Nothing announces it loudly: sales stop, sessions crater, and stock keeps aging.
Two habits neutralize the threat. Daily: check Manage Inventory's suppressed and inactive views (our AI reads do this every morning across client accounts — suppression is a same-day alert, not a weekly discovery). Structural: keep attributes complete and images policy-clean so catalog rule changes do not sweep you. Recovery is usually fast once the specific defect is fixed; the cost is the days nobody noticed.
