Plan of Action (POA)
The appeal document Amazon actually reads — root cause, corrective actions, preventive measures, evidence — the difference between reinstatement and the template rejection loop.
Every serious appeal (suspension, listing deactivation, policy violation) rides on a POA with a fixed anatomy: root cause stated specifically and owned (not 'Amazon made an error', not 'a supplier issue' without naming what you failed to check), corrective actions already completed with evidence, and preventive measures that make recurrence structurally unlikely.
The readers are fast and pattern-trained: generic contrition, blame-shifting, and walls of text all trigger the template rejection. Winning POAs are boring — numbered, factual, evidence-attached, one page where possible — and consistent, because contradicting your earlier submission restarts trust at zero. Write it like an incident postmortem, because that is what it is.
The numbers
- Anatomy: specific owned root cause → completed corrective actions (with evidence) → structural preventive measures.
- Rejection triggers: generic apology, blame-shifting, contradiction with earlier submissions, unfocused length.
