Hazmat (dangerous goods) review
Amazon's classification gate for batteries, aerosols, and chemicals — an SDS-driven review that decides if FBA will store your product at all, in limited hazmat capacity.
Products containing lithium batteries, flammables, aerosols, magnetized materials, or certain chemicals route through dangerous-goods review: you submit a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) or exemption sheet, and Amazon classifies the product as standard, hazmat-storable (limited FBA capacity in dedicated FCs), or FBA-prohibited.
Plan for it in the launch timeline: reviews take days to weeks, mis-submitted SDS paperwork loops, and hazmat storage capacity is scarcer and separately limited. Products stuck in review cannot inbound — another reason compliance paperwork belongs in the pre-production checklist, not the post-arrival scramble.
