Cart-add rate (SQP)

The middle of the SQP funnel: what share of clicks turn into add-to-carts — the purest read on whether the detail page holds the interest the search tile created.

Between the click and the purchase sits the cart add, and SQP reports it per query. A healthy click-to-cart rate says the page confirms what the tile promised; a weak one says the click arrives and deflates — price versus the comparison set, thin reviews, missing size or compatibility answers.

Cart adds that do not become purchases are a different disease: checkout friction, shipping dates, or comparison shopping that ends elsewhere. Splitting the funnel at the cart tells you which half to operate on — content above the cart, urgency and delivery promise below it.

The numbers

  • SQP reports cart adds and cart-add share per query, between clicks and purchases.
  • Click→cart weakness = detail-page problem; cart→purchase weakness = price/delivery/urgency problem.
