Sessions vs. page views
Business Reports' traffic pair: sessions are unique visits within 24 hours, page views are total loads — the difference is repeat interest, and their ratio is worth watching.
A session counts a visitor once inside a 24-hour window regardless of how many times they load the page; page views count every load. Sessions are the denominator of Unit Session Percentage, so the definitions matter when comparing conversion across tools.
The ratio carries signal: page views well above sessions means shoppers keep returning to the listing before deciding — normal for considered purchases, but a spike in the ratio without a conversion lift often marks comparison shopping you are losing. Pair with SQP to see which queries send the traffic that browses versus the traffic that buys.
The numbers
- Session = unique visitor per 24h; page view = every load; both reported per ASIN in Business Reports.
- Page-view-to-session ratio ≈ deliberation: rising ratio with flat conversion = you are the compared, not the chosen.
