Operator glossary

Amazon Seller app

The mobile command line — sales pulse, price alerts, message response within SLA, photo-based product scanning — the difference between issues found at breakfast and issues found Monday.

The Seller app covers the mobile-shaped slice of operations: sales dashboards, order and return management, buyer-message replies (against the 24-hour clock), listing edits, price and Buy Box alerts, and camera-based product/barcode lookup for sourcing on the move.

Its operational role is latency reduction: buyer messages answered within SLA from anywhere, account-health alerts seen the hour they fire, price wars noticed in progress. Configure notifications deliberately — the default firehose trains you to ignore it, which is worse than not installing it.

The numbers

  • Covers: sales pulse, orders/returns, buyer messaging, listing edits, alerts, barcode scanning.
  • Tune notifications: message SLA and account-health alerts on; vanity metrics off.
