Sponsored Products
Amazon's keyword- and product-targeted ads that render as native listings in search and on detail pages — the workhorse format that takes most of a typical ad budget.
Sponsored Products are the ads indistinguishable from organic results until you notice the label. They target keywords or specific ASINs, bill per click, and convert at rates display advertisers dream about, because they intercept shoppers mid-search. For most accounts they are 70–85% of spend and the primary rank-building instrument.
Structure beats bidding tricks: separate exact-match harvesting campaigns from broad-match research, give each hero SKU its own budget so a bestseller cannot starve a launch, and negative-match relentlessly. The console's automation suggestions optimize for spend continuity, not your margin — every default deserves suspicion.
The numbers

- Across accounts we audit, Sponsored Products takes 70–85% of total ad spend.
