Prime Exclusive Discount (PED)
A discount only Prime members see — strikethrough pricing in search for the audience most likely to buy, free to run, with price-history rules keeping it honest.
PED shows Prime members a reduced price with strikethrough styling in search and on the listing while non-members see the regular price. It targets the highest-converting shopper population on the platform, costs no fee (you fund the discount), and satisfies deal-visibility requirements during events when sized to the event's threshold.
Rules anchor it to genuine value: minimum discount percentages and reference-price sanity checks against recent price history, with steeper requirements during Prime Day and similar events. It is the quiet workhorse of the promo stack — less theatrical than deals, no per-event fee, and switchable in hours; the same stacking caution as coupons applies.
The numbers
- Visible to Prime members only, with strikethrough price treatment in search and on the detail page.
- No per-event fee — the discount itself is the cost; minimum-discount and price-history rules apply (stricter during events).
- Stacks with other promotions unless managed — coordinate the promo calendar.
