High-volume listing fee
The catalog rent above 100,000 ASINs — a fraction of a cent per listing per month that only matters when your strategy is listing everything — aimed squarely at catalog-spam models.
Accounts holding more than 100,000 eligible active listings pay a monthly fee (on the order of $0.001 per ASIN) on the excess — with exemptions tied to listings that actually sell. For normal brands it never triggers; for the list-the-universe models (media megasellers, print-on-demand spam, data-dump droppshippers) it prices the catalog pollution.
If you are anywhere near the threshold, the fix is hygiene rather than payment: prune listings with no sales history, which simultaneously helps IPI-adjacent metrics, feed processing speed, and the fee. It is Amazon charging rent on shelf space that produces nothing.
The numbers
- Threshold: 100,000+ eligible active ASINs; fee ~$0.001 per ASIN per month above it, with sales-based exemptions.
- Aimed at catalog-spam models; the cure is pruning dead listings, not paying.
